That is the philosophy of Stewart Buntine, who launched Express Eventing, a condensed form of the competition, which, with a simple format and the lure of £250,000 in prize-money, he hopes will showcase the three-pronged discipline as glamorously as Twenty20 has done for cricket. Briton Lucy Wiegersma, Australian Olympic silver medallist Lucinda Fredericks, French rider Rodolphe Scherer, Italian Vittoria Pannizon, Kiwi Caroline Powell and American Philip Dutton have joined British Olympic medallists Mary King and William Fox-Pitt as competitors in the new format, which showcases the excitement of three-day eventing condensed into just half a day, inside an enclosed sporting arena.

Riders compete for £250,000 in 'Twenty20' express eventing showpiece

Super horse Call Again Cavalier will pull on his dancing shoes in November in a bid to add a bumper £100,000 jackpot to the Olympic bronze medal won in Hong Kong two weeks ago.

His rider, five times Olympian Mary King, has not yet decided what music he will dance to when he takes centre stage in the dressage section of the brand new Express Eventing International Cup at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff but knows full well that her beloved bay gelding will skip the light fandango when he realises he is playing to a capacity 45,000 crowd.
