Phillip Dutton

Phillip Dutton has represented Australia and America at top level eventing for more than 15 years.

The 45-year-old Australian born rider has competed at four Olympic Games – three for Australia, winning team gold in Atlanta and Sydney, and representing the US at this summer’s Beijing Olympic Games.

Philip grew up on his family’s sheep and wheat farm in New South Wales, moving to the US in 1991 to further his eventing career. He became a US citizen in 2006 and changed his competitive nationality.

He is extremely active on the US eventing circuit, winning the USEA Leading Rider of the Year title in 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. In 2005 he was also the number one FEI World Event Rider.

Phillip has been runner-up at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event five times, was second, fourth and fifth in 2005 and was also second at Burghley CCI**** with The Foreman in 2005.

Phillip lives in Pennsylvania with his wife Evie, her daughter Lee Lee and their twin daughters Mary and Olivia.

Away from horses, he has a keen interest in world affairs, reading, and other sports, particularly golf and tennis when time permits.
